A tough weekend for the Eagle - 2 crashes

Testing Day

"The car felt very loose during testing. I was constantly fighting with it. In an attempt to diagnose the problem we decided to go out for another run on the test stage before going back to the service crew. About 3/4 of the way through the stage we came into a very loose 3 left plus and the car snapped out aggressively. In an attempt to regain control, I went full lock counter steer and started to bring the car back around, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to regain control of the car before we went into the bank and rolled onto our roof. Thankfully Matt and I were unharmed and the guys were able to get the car back together before the start of the rally."

Event Day 1 - We got it back on the road . . . but . . .

"It was super dusty on stage and we got off the notes a bit. Coming through a dust cloud on the throttle and fully committed, I expected to be met by a six-right, which is a max speed corner, but as It turned out it was a three-right, which would be a 45mph corner. At the point where the visibility came back to us, there wasn’t anything to do to slow down in time to make the corner. I pitched the car sideways in an attempt to slow things down as much as possible and just braced for the 12g impact. Fortunately the way we impacted with the trees, the car took most of the damage and Matt and I walked away with some minor bruising and soreness."
